Essay Intro Continued

Those students actually follow all the rules and even pray before lunch. "What's going on?" You ask yourself. Hardly anyone paid it much attention, but, come to find out, praying in school is against the rules. Why is it that many school systems are overly concerned with students that pray, especially when there are far more students that deserve the discipline and attention. Children and student bodies should not be punished for expressing their personal relegious beliefs.

Intro for my Essay?

As the school bell rings, you hurry through the cafeteria doors. To you, it feels like an ordinary weekday. You can smell the mystery lunch as soon as you stepped in. As you fought your way throught the horrendously long lunch line, you saw the principle escoting some troblesome students from their lunch tables. Hold on a second, those kids are not the usual troblue makers!
I decided to start my essay out with a story, to me, it seems to drag you into continue reading....?

Soap Opera

I liked this play; it was very unusaul, but funny. It, to me, was making fun of how goofy and stupid real soap operas can be. He fell in love with one girl but, also has feelings for another. Isn't that the way all soap opereas are or based on. This one in particular was about a old school repairman who falls deeply in love or you could say obsessed with a maytag washing machine. Once his other girl Mabel finds out, she finds it very odd. In the end, he finally realizes that the Maytag washer needs a real mate, one that goes along with her. And what could that be? A dryer, of course. The repairment sticks with Mabel and her sticky jelly stains on her blouse that he always seems to notice and point out.

"First Poem For You" by Kim Addonizio

Maybe she is really scared to show her love outright, because in the dark or not she is still showing it. The fact that she is in the dark could possibly signify that she is confused about their relationship. She seems happy to know that the tattoos will last forever, but scared to know if their relationship will soon become filled with pain and bitterness, instead of the "real love" for him she is feeling right now. For her, the tattoos seem to be be easier and less frightening than the man, for they will never change, but the love for her could, for better or worse. In a way this poem shows that the author is unsure of the permanence between the two of them.

The Illiterate

"The Illiterate" by William Meredith is about a man who receives a letter and grows ashamed of himself, knowing that he cannot read it and so scared to ask someone for help. He is very excited about receiving it, but is also in fear of what it might mean and he doesn't know what to exactly do about it. The last six lines is a complete mystery. He is questioning himself about what it could mean. It makes you wonder what could be inside the letter or how this poor, illiterate man is feeling when he has this letter that could contain very important information.

The Panther

"The Panther" written by Rainer Maria Rilke to me describes a poor, caged animal that desires to be free in the wild again. This panther is described as growing old and weak to the world around him because of his lack of exercise and stimulation. All he can do is pace in circles inside the cage all day. He is basically bored and has given up hope of anything he may have once known. This poems truly shows the cruelty of imprisoning animals in iron cages for our own pathetic, human entertainment.
